Based on the information here: http://www.cpsc.gov/BUSINFO/regsumsmallparts.pdf it seems like small parts on clothing are exempt from the Small Parts Regulation. Doesn't that mean onesies or other pieces of with buttons are exempt from this rule?

Ashley, thanks for the link. When we posted, there had been more recent information on phthalates and testing, and it was there that we thought they mentioned it too need not be tested if inaccessible. No such luck, it appears, because we cannot seem to find that statement again.

I have updated the post to reflect this information.

Yes, at this time, you would need to test and provide the necessary GCCs because you are the manufacturer as defined by the CPSC. In November, we should find out more about the testing options available to businesses and should component testing be allowed, you will be able to leverage some, if not all, of the GCCs from the larger manufacturers who provide the t-shirt blanks and printing services to you.

Hi there! I'm glad I found your website.

I own a company that sells baby clothes (onesies/tees) and have a local supplier/manufacturer produce them (we are based in Asia). Since I want to sell our products directly to US customers, I've started undergoing some third-party testing. Does this mean that I am responsible for providing the GCC? Assuming our products pass the testing?

Thanks for sharing this I've been wanting to find out the answer to it.

I live in Asia and sell baby products here in my country. I have actually started testing for our products locally in an accredited lab and will get results next week. After which, I'm not sure what happens.
