Where can I find a list of non-compliant products?

Currently there is no list of all non-compliant products. To be truly comprehensive it would include hundreds of thousands of products since the CPSIA encompasses any product for children under 12.

The CPSC, however, does maintain a recall list where you will be able to find products about which the CPSC is aware .

  • In our store, we hired a company to do XRF testing and found we had products that failed. These included rhinestone (bling) shirts, buttons on shirts, orange felt on items, and a pewter product. It would be helpful to a have list of the types or categories of products that have failed so that retailers can be more aware since the law is retroactive and we are still responsible for selling compliant products.

We are making buying decisions based upon our experience and the manufacturer’s stance with the law.

  • That’s a great suggestion. I will add a question about products about which people should be aware.
