What is a GCC?

A GCC is a general certificate of conformity. A GCC is required to demonstrate that manufacturers have tested their products and they are in compliance with the CPSIA’s stated lead and phthalate levels (where applicable).

Both online and brick-and-mortar retail shops are requiring GCCs from each of their manufacturers, small or large, to ensure that all products are in compliance.

Small manufacturers are also requiring GCCs from their suppliers in order to confirm that the components they are using to build the final products are in compliance with the law.

Here is a sample GCC.
